Virtual Reality

The concept of virtual reality comes from "virtuality", which originally meant in scholasticism the connection between realities belonging to different levels, mainly between reality divine and earthly.  In the second half of the twentieth century, the virtual, understood as possible, potential, speculative.  Since the 1980s, the term "virtual reality" has expanded to refer to computer systems that give the user an interactive stereoscopic image.  In the end, its main importance was the imitation of reality with the help of a computer and various devices acting on the senses.
